Changes from 2015

  • Table now includes accessibility information.
  • New levee at Andrews of Stratford.
  • New levee at Upstreet Craft Brewing (well-timed for an uptown swing to UPEI and the Women’s Institute).
  • New levee from Discover Charlottetown and The Guild.
  • There is no levee at HMCS Queen Charlotte this year.
  • Added the levee for The Kitchen Witch. Not technically in the “Charlottetown Area,” but included nonetheless.
  • The Premier’s Levee returns to the Confederation Centre of the Arts.
  • In a stunning blow to the “Charlottetown area” in the title of this post, I’ve added the City of Summerside levee for this first time. Welcome, western neighbours.
  • Now that Summerside’s on the list, seems only right to add Borden-Carleton. And Kensington.

I don't see the Ch'town Legion on here, is that not happening this year? Too bad, it's always one of the best & what is more important than thanking our veterans!!

Thanks for pointing out the absence of the Legion levee; I’ve just confirmed that they’re going ahead, and I’ve added that to the schedule.

Will you be taking Oliver out to the 2016 Levee? Bonne année!

Just noticed the Sports Page isn't on here either. Are they not doing one this year?

I just checked in with The Sport Page Club and they’re on for 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and I’ve added them to the schedule.

there is always the final levee at the fire hall downtown , this is not on the list ?

Back in The Beginning, I tried to call the Fire Department about this. Eventually I got through, and I was told that this wasn’t a levee, per se, but rather a dance. It also wasn’t clear whether or not the public was invited or not. So I’ve always left if off. I’d be happy to be disabused of these notions if things have changed.

Peter Thanks for this great list. I would point out, as well, that Kensington has a levee from 12 - 1 with Mayor and Council present at the Kensington Lions Club

Thank you for the pointer to Kensington, Wayne; I’ve added the town’s levee to the list.

CoreY - the Charlottetown Firehall holds a New Years Dance on Levee day starting at 6:30. It's not a Levee, just a place to finish off the day with some dancing & food. It's always a great time & is open to the public!! The event is listed on their Facebook page.

Hi, in the list of places NOT holding a levee this year you have that there will be no levee at HMCS Queen Charlotte this year..isn't the Prince Edward Island Regiment 3 Haviland Street, Charlottetown, PE the same?

Peter Rukavina's picture

These are not the same. There IS a levee at the PEI Regiment, aka Queen Charlotte Armories, at the foot of Haviland St. There is NOT a levee at HMCS Queen Charlotte on Water Street near the Hillsborough Bridge.

The information in the table above and the pdf you download is not the same.

ie for Canoe Cove in the table above it says
11:00 am - 1:00pm
but in the pdf it says
12:00am - 1:00pm

12am is midnight
