Aeroplan.com Down

At this writing, Aeroplan.com, the website of Air Canada’s frequent flyer program, has been down for more than 24 hours, with the message:

Sorry — Due to a technical issue, our web site is currently unavailable. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause you. Be sure to come back later and try again. Thank you for your patience.

Ellen Roseman from the Toronto Star has some of the details on the outage.

If you call Aeroplan at 800-361-5373 you get a recorded message telling you that the website and the cell centre are both down, so at this point you can’t make Aeroplan bookings at all.

Seems like the outage extends beyond Aeroplan.com. Air Canada’s main bookings website has this message today:

NOTICE: aircanada.com member sign in is temporarily unavailable. Customers may continue to make regular bookings on aircanada.com by continuing as a guest on the Review Flight Details page.

Monday morning and Aeroplan.com is back online. Website makes no mention of the 3-day debacle.

Unfriendly sites…can’t get total airmiles … can’t always post Tropicana numbers … can’t enter contest… and when did anyone ever find a site where case matters … time to get into the modern world, Aeroplan.
