Here’s an interesting audio archive of interviews by Vin Scelsa on his WFUV radio programme Idiot’s Delight.
I’m in the midst of reading Mark Jacobson’s book 12,000 Miles In The Nick Of Time: A Semi-Dysfunctional Family Navigates The Globe, and was intrigued to listen to the interview with Jacobson and his daughter Rae. I’ll be reviewing the book shortly over on the Reinvented World site.
Other interviews you can listen to include Eddie Izzard, Norah Jones, Tim Robbins, Tom Wiats and Kurt Vonnegut.

DELOVELY IS A VERY GOOD MOVIE
DELOVELY IS A VERY GOOD MOVIE AND WELL WORTH THE $10.25 ADMISSION. THE POETRY, THE ROMANCE, A LOVING WIFE, A HUSBAND, WHO IN HER EYES, COULD RARELY DO WRONG; NO MATTER HOW WRONG IT SEEMED AT THE TIME. WHAT COULD BE BAD - EBERT RARELY GETS IT WRONG AND HIS FINGER IS UP.
NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT YOU’LL BE THE YOUNGEST PERSON IN THE THEATER. THAT’S ALWAYS INVIGORATING. SAW IT AT 11TH STREET AND 3RD AVENUE ON SATURDAY. EVERYBODY AHEAD OF ME ON A LONG LINE WAS ASKING FOR SENIOR DISCOUNT TICKETS. WHEN I GOT TO THE BOX OFFICE THE TICKET SELLER GOT ALL FLUSTERED CAUSE I ASKED FOR A TICKET. WHAT! NO SENIOR DISCOUNT QUALIFIER!! HE KINDA DIDN’T KNOW WHAT TO DO. IT TOOK HIM A LITTLE WHILE BUT HE EVENTUALLY FIGURED IT OUT. HE’LL BE A MANAGER SOME DAY. I SAT WITH ALL THE LITTLE OLD LADIES WITH BLUE HAIR. WE HAD A GREAT TIME. YOU WILL TOO. AND IF YOU DON’T, YOU CAN LEAVE AND SNEAK INTO ANOTHER THEATER AND SEE WHITE CHICKS.
SCREW THE HYPHEN AND THE NAYSAYERS. THEY’RE NAYSAYERS BECAUSE THEY DON’T UNDERSTAND ART. HOW MANY PEOPLE DO?
PS
IT COULD HAVE USED A LITTLE MORE INSIGHT INTO THE CREATIVE PROCESS. BUT HEY, IT’S JUST AN ENTERTAINING AND ENJOYABLE MOVIE THAT’S WELL WORTH SEEING.
