Today is the 59th anniversary of the bombing of Nagasaki, Japan. The Exploratorium has an online exhibition of photographs.

This exhibit is quintessential Exploratorium turf: The museum was founded by the blacklisted and unemployed physicist Frank Oppenheimer, brother of J.Robert Oppenheimer, who led the project that designed the Nagasaki bomb.
