Nagasaki

Today is the 59th anniversary of the bombing of Nagasaki, Japan. The Exploratorium has an online exhibition of photographs.

This exhibit is quintessential Exploratorium turf: The museum was founded by the blacklisted and unemployed physicist Frank Oppenheimer, brother of J.Robert Oppenheimer, who led the project that designed the Nagasaki bomb.

Blacklisted and unemployed” isn’t quite right. Make that “blackballed peacenik physicist Frank Oppenheimer”
