Although it’s hard to get really accurate information, the logs suggest that some two or three hundred people stop by here every day. Sometimes you are return visitors, sometimes you are looking for information on Tim Horton’s coffee secrets.
As I’ve spent much of the past week developing online reader survey systems for a client, I’ve become curious about you the readership. Some of you I know because I’m related to you, others are friends from Charlottetown and beyond. Still others I “know” only through what you’ve written here.
A year ago, I had a sort of “reader survey poll” here, but the results, in their anonymous numericalness, were unsatisfying.
So a humble request, dear readers: would you mind taking a minute to tell me some brief snippet about yourselves? Just click on the DISCUSS link at the bottom of this note, scroll down to the bottom of the page, and type me a few words. Nothing complex or involved required — just give me an idea of who and where you are.

Does anyone remember The Orangutan Story from the early 80’s on a late-night nationally heard radio talk show? It was a news article read by a caller about an orangutan that got loose. I laughed so hard I fell out of bed.
googling random word spam and found your very well done site. Congratulations.
Found your site after typing “What does sic mean” into the Yahoo search engine. I have no idea what this site is, but it definitely answered my question. Thanks. :-)
You know me Peter. However in my search for self-knowledge I googled my own name along with a keyword or two and bingo I came to Reinvented and a reference to me. This site rocks. Good job.
This is the town mall for those of us who love our community but can’t get out to meet people on other paths nearly enough for whatever reason (work, work, work), especially in winter (weather). Thanks for a sunny place like this to visit and share our island with other souls (even if we CFA).
Searched for gallbladder removal symptoms afterwards and found you. Had my gallbladder removed oct 1996 and have fought with diarrhea within 1 to 2 hours of eating 3-5 times a week ever since. My mother has the same problem.
Hey, Peter;
By an ironic twist of fate, I’ve been given responsibility for Bell’s Western Canada community portal business. This made me think of you. Hello from Vancouver!

Well… I used to hang out over at http://itasnt.itas.net:8080/~p… but I guess the plug has finally been pulled. I googled it to see if maybe it had just been moved, and I found this thread. I’ve been to this page before though — I think through a link on cityfilter.
I have nothing to do with IT or web design or anything, except that I spend way too much time on the net and do the blog thing. I’m a student up here in Summerside at Holland College AITC (machinist program).
Wow, this thread will be a week old next week. :D
I would very much like to reach Mr. George Radwanski,
perhaps I could give him some valuable information as
to his downfall.
Do you know where I could get in touch with him? He can
get in touch with me at this e-mail address.
uh yeah, make that a year old. “a week old next week” lol.
Hi Peter. Found your site after googling “CBC PEI” to catch up on some Island news…
I loved your “About” page, summarizes my feelings about the web design biz precisely — especially the bit about “interactive marketing crap” and corporate b.s. — how absolutely true.
I’m currently a refugee from the web design world, am also a trained librarian/archivist. Am returning to school however in the fall to study Practical Nursing.
I dream of relocating to PEI — I have family there (mom’s side — Macdonald) and used to summer there for many years (first at my uncle’s place at 200 Hilsboro and later up at a cottage in Stanhope). Almsot bought property there last fall. Want a heritage house like yours ;)
Am currently living outside Toronto, looking after an againg relative (hence the interest in nursing), who I’ll bring with me wherever I end up.
Hey, I went to Trent U. too. And your partner Catherine Miller’s name sounds awfully familair — did she teach there per chance?

Hello Peter. As stated above my name is Jacob. We have met on a couple of occasions, I have been known to stop in to the silverorange headquarters thus bypassing the Reinvented headquarters. Live in Charlottetown, travel the world. 84Fitzroy.org has made my life much easier by the way…
Found you searching ‘Tim Hortons Iced Cap’.
Just relocated from Hong Kong to Toronto Canada… browsing the WWW to kill some time…
Interesting commentary!

Hi,
Thank you for the wonderful instructions on how to use freezer paper to create my own printed images. I have been looking for a while for this information as I have a HP PSC 750 — I will now attempt to create my own images to create memory wallhangings for my family.
Thanks again!!
I’m a skinny black guy from NYC who reads alot… also I am an EMT, a PreMED and a History major @ UTSA (UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS at SAN ANTONIO).
I am a rocker.
I rock out.
I found your site after doing a search for “Ukrainian last names” even though your last name is Croatian…
“Hi” from the outskirts of Tokyo. I’ve been here over 6 years, working as an English-language instructor. I’ve hit upon your sites now and then when searching for various things related to PEI, usually things located in or happening in Charlottown. I’ll be leaving Japan in December, to enter the MLIS program at UWO. I’m sure I’ll hit on your site again, but I can’t guess when it will be or why. Cheers!
thanks
I was searching for information on free timbits for dogs at Tim Horton’s (yes, really). Your site came up.
Living and working in Moncton, NB.
Actually, Bruce Dalzell is a hell of a guy who performs music and tunes pianos in the little town of Guysville (hidden in the Appalachian region of Ohio).
He hosted an open stage mike at the college club “Mr. Bojangles”. The club was nestled along Court Street by the Ohio University campus (one of our top rated party colleges).
I attended O.U between 1980 and 1982. Bruce and his wife
allowed me to audition my really bad comedy acts on stage.
Have noticed that the Bush Network…er I mean WVOM is hard to hear up here in the Dover-Milo-Brownville area lately.
Just about every talk show I can hear…Rush, Lars Larson, Howie Carr…are ALL anti Kerry. Too bad this talent is being wasted on such a dangerous man…Mr. Bush I mean. With the mess we are in now, I can’t imagine how bad off we’ll be in 4 years….Trillions of dollars deficit, A minimum of 10,000 American dead in Iraq and we’ll STILL BE THERE! The Rich getting more tax breaks and the poor getting poorer…How can my fellow Americans be so BLIND! George Dean
You people kill me.
I work with your brother at CBC MTL.
You are an insane genius, as is he.

Congratulations, Peter. It’s wonderful. (Actually, your b’log has been wonderful all those past years, but the True Rukavina has now emerged.)
Thank you so much for that truly inspiring conference a year ago. The
b’logging spirit has stayed with me. In January I am offering a course at Trent on “Design, Intangibles, and Saving the World”. Still, I am missing the PEI conference. We need an encore.
I was looking at my fav list and came back to this site to see what was going on here.Almost fell outta my chair!I will reserve judgement till I look around
Hola, mi nombre es Jorge,
Hi Peter,
I heard about your site from Dave H (my cousin). Thanks for posting the link to the NFB clip. Really wonderful to see that.

I stumbled onto your website while trying to find out exactly what duty we pay when we have something mailed to us in Canada from the U.S. (I had $75 charged on a ring being returned after repair in the U.S. because it was insured for $300 — that is 25%!). Your explanation of duty free was a good refresher.
Does anyone know how to find out what duty is charged on what?
I’m a 63 year old grandmother who couldn’t find “discuss” to click on as instructed so instead clicked on “comment” assuming one needs to comment in order to discuss a thing. I got to this site as I was researching the meaning of “sic” and how to use it properly. Some unerudite (is that a word?) individuals have called me the grammar police. I once asked a friend of one of my grandson’s where his brother worked. My grandson’s friend said, “He work at Wal-Mart.” My grandson told his friend that he’d better add an “s” to work or get out my reach.
Hi there! I live in T.dot, but I’m from PEI — born and raised (well, until I finished Grade 4 at L.M. Montgomery).
I currently co-host G4TechTV’s Call for Help (www.callforhelptv.com), which airs daily with host Leo Laporte (www.leoville.com) and co-host Andy Walker (www.cyberwalker.com). I also work for iPrimate as a Web Strategist on Microsoft Home Magazine (www.microsoft.ca/home).
Happy New Year ;) to all you Islanders and PEI ex-pats!

Hello:
I visited the site by “accident” :) Desperatly looking for “His Girl Friday” movie, which you used for your “Torrent Experiment”.
Pity you took it down, cause I would not find it anywhere… If possible, could you please give me a “live” torrent I could fetch it from?
Regards from acros the globe — sunny, snow-covered Bulgaria! ;)
Weird, I was looking for information for work and came across your website/name. I went to school with you at Waterdown — you always wore sweater cardigans. You were very quiet and proper I remember. I think we were in the same history class with Mr. Armitage — couldn’t stand him.
Jennifer Porter (Jennifer Gray)
Oh, to be remembered as a quiet and proper cardigan-wearing guy. Who could ask for anything more. Nice to hear from you.

Thank you for a pleasant waste of time!

Feel free to email me.

Hello!
My name is Dylan. While doing a bit of random image searching on Google, I stumbled across pictures that you took in Disnik. I was bowled over, to say the least. That was my grandfather’s village (His name was Franjo Remes) Please, email me/respond when you have the chance. I’d love to get the chance to talk some. (Perhaps we’re related?).
came across your april 2nd post about the rochester/toronto ferry. i too am from rochester (now living in London). i was recently home for a visit and drove down to charlotte to see the ferry terminal. i have to say it left me scratching my head. charlotte is lovely in the summer but holds minimal attraction for folks from toronto. other than the Charpit there is nothing really to do. that plus no real mass transit. like your blog.
regards
ron
I live in Toronto and agree with you that Rogers text-to-email service sucks! It’s a money grab — plain and simple. I can’t wait until the competition crushes Rogers.
p.s. great blog. nice work.
I found you by looking for “wardriving bangkok” on google!
When have you been to France?
A bientot.
I posted here because I saw a post from Chris Storti, andI know where Athens Ohio is and reaching even further
back, I know where Hubbard Ohio is, and I was curious to see if Chris still reads these posts…
Curious little space you have here…
