500 Torrents, and Nothing On

One of the sad facts of any new distribution technology is that it inevitably gets used to fling around the same old crap. I naively thought that once it became possible to shuffle high-quality video around on the Internet (in this case using BitTorrent), I would be able to watch Panorama and interesting Australian TV shows and all sorts of new interesting stuff.

Bad TV

Turns out that most of what’s there is the same old horrible American television you can get via cable. It amazes me that anyone would actually go to the trouble of recording, encoding and uploading shows like Fear Factor and Everwood. Sigh.

Well where to begin… We always download tv shows (americana) and save alot of time not having to watch stupid commercials. what is the need to even have cable these days watching more advertisements than the actual show. This way I can watch what I want when I want to watch it, my life doesn’t have to revolve around what is on and what time. lets face it whether there is one or ten shows you like to watch (personal taste) you like to watch them when you like to watch them.
