Go Carts

You wouldn’t believe how much more fun go-carting is when you are racing against your three brothers. We all did 12 laps at North River causeway this afternoon. Maximum fun was had by all.

I remember hearing people say that Bonshaw was the best place to go on PEI for Go-Carts. I always liked Burlington Go-Carts because the track was really long and you got to go around 3 times.

I remember when I was about 11 or 12 going to Bonshaw. I think it was my first time ever behind the wheel of a go cart (at best second time). I was going around the track with a young boy about my age. He wanted to show off a little so he raced past me giving me a little nudge as he went by. That sent me flying towards the great tire fence. All I remember is me and the go cart going one way and about 15 tires going the other. The man working the track had to come dig me and the go cart out of a sea of tires. It was the best time I ever had on a go cart.

A good rule of thumb: go-carts are good if you have to actually let up on the accelerator to go around corners — if you can just put the pedal to the metal and drive all the way around, you are in a lame go-cart.

I think the thought of three Rukavina brothers in those North River go-carts is almost as amusing as actually being there.

oh yeah, my incedent with the tires was when I was 11 or 12.. I learned my lesson.. don’t let someone play bumper cars with you on a go-cart. As for racing go carts now, I’m much better. Or at least I hope.

i hate thoughs stupid little go karts that only go 60 mph. i put nitro in mine and it goes 110 mph i got a big old spoiler with neon and some tight rimes that are chrome. i also drive an eclipes that goes 200 without nitro it is tight.

dont get already made plans, make your own. I did and it works really well. It can lay a dirty patch and pretty impressive burn outs. My advise is to make your own plans, draw them out and it’ll work if they’re decent. Mine was hand drawn and made without any real measuring..just guess work and lots of luck.

I have an off-road go-cart that kicks. It weighs about 150 lbs and i am using an engine out of a Ski-doo. It is an 800 cc rotax that is pushing 160 hp. Can you beat it? I highly doubt it.
