A reminder that Taken, the digital exhibition that knocked my socks off, closes on Sunday at the Confederation Centre. You should really try to get over and see it today or Saturday.
Well I guess that means their website was wrong. Apologies for steering people in the wrong direction based on web-only information. And a pox on the Centre for not keeping things up to date online.
I was there on Sunday and the Taken exhibit is definitly gone, though I did see it a while ago. The new exhibition that’s taken its place up there is pretty neat too. Fictional historical engineering projects for the Island. Very fun.
A website is only capable of displaying content the users provide. It is unfortunate to blame a system, when humans are the ones in error. (Gee do I sound like a robot there?) Sadly, many organizations are not filled with web-savy-robot-like individuals. A website is often the last component in a communication system to get information. Our organization always sends information to THEBUZZ long before it ever gets updated on the website. A challenge and frustration indeed.
The nice thing about this post, is the Sunday Gallery staff person brought this to my attention…and I’ve asked Jon, the Gallery Director to look into it. Sometimes all it takes is a mistake to prevent future ones, so hopefully the Gallery staff will pay closer attention to their website as a way of communicating their events.
