Sixty Hours of Valerie Pringle

I realize that I’m in no position to comment, but I can’t believe that there’s a television show that consists entirely of 60 live hours of watching Valerie Pringle take a train across Canada.

We’re promised “the romance, grandeur and rugged beauty of Canada.” What we get is endless hours of watching Valerie Pringle eating lunch. And Valerie Pringle talking about rivers. And train guys talking about how people with headphones walking down the tracks get wiped out by freight trains. And shots of railway track. And Valerie Pringle talking to waiters. And shots of railway track. And Valerie Pringle talking about what a great trip she’s having. All with a royalty free soundtrack of jazzy elevator music punctuated by the rail “air traffic control” radio chatter.

It is arguably the most boring 60 hours of television ever produced.

That’s not what Valerie Pringle had to say about it!

I watched it and thoroughly enjoyed it at that time. I was also a fan of Valerie Pringle.
I’m 17 years late commenting on it as I was just looking up the info on it this afternoon and came across this on the internet.
Cheers!

Very well spoken for a dead guy. Was expecting a National Dream or The Last Spike plug!

Well for those of us who know and enjoy seeing the varied landscapes of Canada the show was enjoyable and Valarie was as bubbly as ever.

I watched the great train ride, and I loved every minute of it, and Valarie Pringle as well, and I have watched many of her other trips also, and have enjoyed those as well, so I hope they continue to televise those particular type of shows, very informative and interesting.
As a result of watching the train ride, my husband and I are going to travel from vancouver to halifax for our 50th wedding anniversary.(actually it will be vancouver island to halifax)
Is there a DVD to purchase of that particular trip?

I have to say that Valerie is a wonderful travel host and that I am anxiously waiting and looking for her train trip across Canada to come out on DVD. How about it CTV?

Is there any where I can buy these 60 hours of the train trip across Canada? I saw a couple of episodes but I want to see the whole thing.
