The West Wing and Martin Luther King

In the fourth season of The West Wing, there’s an episode called College Kids with several scenes shot at the House of Blues in Cambridge, Mass. at a recreation of a Rock The Vote rally. And on stage at the rally is a singer doing a stirring rendition of James Taylor’s Shed a Little Light. A small bit of Googling around reveals that this singer was Aimee Mann.

Let us turn our thoughts today
To Martin Luther King
And recognize that there are ties between us
All men and women
Living on the earth
Ties of hope and love
Sister and brotherhood
That we are bound together
In our desire to see the world become
A place in which our children
Can grow free and strong
We are bound together
By the task that stands before us
And the road that lies ahead
We are bound and we are bound

It seems as though the track has never been released, and a search for bootleg copies turned up nothing.
