All that time, effort and money for a few more parking spaces.
It does seem wrongheaded to
It does seem wrongheaded to do anything that improves parking downtown when, on the other hand, we’re actively trying to encourage public transit, active transportation and, at the very least, carpooling. Building housing for cars in the dense urban core also removes land that could be used for other purposes.
