Catherine has died.

Peter Rukavina

Catherine died tonight at 9:20 p.m.

I was at her side, joined, a few minutes later, by Oliver, my brother Mike and my mother.

Catherine died gently and peacefully, and on her own terms.

As she lived.

My condolences to you, Oliver and the rest of the Rukavina clan. Although I never met Catherine, I feel as if I knew her (based on what you've written about her over the years).

In the early days of my daughter Cassia's life I remember Catherine's sense of caring for Cassia. Not just literally caring for Cassia (which she did) moreover you could feel the caring coming off of Catherine. One time Catherine called me at work because she was wondering who was picking Cassia up somewhere and she told me to get over to where she was and pick her up. For Cassia's sake. It takes a village and Catherine was part of that. Catherine was full of sweetness and love. She was smart and fun too.

We are extremely blessed to have had Catherine in our lives. Very few people are the real deal. Catherine was for sure. She touched the lives of many and will continue to inspire through the many memories she created in the acquaintances she made. Oliver and Peter, you are her legacy. She will never be forgotten. Love to you both. Jillian, Gary and Isleen xo
