2019 Charlottetown Levee Schedule

Peter Rukavina

This is the January 1, 2019 schedule.
Maybe you’re looking for the 2020 Levee Schedule?

This is the 2019 levee schedule for New Years Day, January 1, 2019 for Charlottetown and Prince Edward Island.

This is the 14th year I’ve been collating and confirming this information. If you’re new to all of this and want to give it a try, read How to Levee and The Rural Levee Loop Awards 2018. There are 42 levees being held this year, ranging geographically from Tignish to Souris and in scale from a rural community hall to the Confederation Centre of the Arts, with everything in between.

New this year is a column showing whether levees are “all ages” or not, in other words, whether they welcome people who are younger than 19 years old or not.

All levees listed below have been confirmed with organizers. If you have additional levees to add, or changes to the information below, please drop me a line.

Sorry guys: our levee is 19+ after all. We had hoped to open it up but were advised not to, unfortunately. Apologies for the confusion.

Any recommendations as to which would be the most "all age" appropriate or most welcoming to young ones? My kids are always up for free sweets but I've never Leveed.

The Lieutenant Governor’s levee is nice for the formality and pomp.

The PEI Regiment Levee has a fantastic band and a great atmosphere.

The Premier’s levee has a long line, but is very collegial and generally has great food.

The list of 2019 is now complete, inasmuch as all levees held in previous years have confirmed their details.

Any last-minute changes will be posted here as soon as I receive them.

Hey Peter!
Curious if the Sport Page, Ch'town Firehall and Ch'town Curling Club Levees are being held? Don't see them on the list...Legion too?

Merry Christmas
Gordon

Check the “Include levees that are ages 19+ only” checkbox to see levees that exclude young people.

Curious if there is some kind of bus or something that is taking people around if they want to have a few drinks and can't drive?

Hi Peter,
I'm a reporter at The Guardian and we were wondering if we have your permission to link to the list of 2019 levees?
Thanks!

Thank you Peter.
This is an excellent community service. I hope to see you out on the Levee trail so that I can wish you a happy new year in person.

Last minute additions, emailed by organizers:

  • Village of Morell, Morell Legion, Northside Communities Initiative
  • Royal Canadian Legion - Summerside

I’ve also turned off the hiding of 19+-only levees, as readers found it too confusing.

With the weather coming... I imagine everyone's hoping for the best and planning for the worst. Any idea where cancellations might be posted if the weather is too awful?
