Sundries at Right

Peter Rukavina

After stripping this space bare aesthetically, I’m starting to get a hunger for some of the old clutter. So to the right you will now see three new lists: a list of new items since your last visit, a list of new discussion since your last visit, and a list of audio and video items that have appeared here.

Your “last visit” is calculated from a cookie you get sent every time you visit, called, appropriately enough, ReinventedLastVisit.

Enjoy.

Wonderful new (usefulness-adding) layout & features Pete. When someone “up at our’s” does something like this I tend to say, “GOOD JOB!!!”

I agree - I like these sorts of indexes on the side of blogs. Blogtracker by Jevon is also handy when you follow a number of them as I have. One suggestion. It might be better to have “last five” rather than “since your last visit” - but then again it might not…

What is quite good is how you tinker all the time.

Nice additions. I’m not sure if this happens to everyone, but I clicked on a link in the left bar, and then when I came back to the front page, all the “New” links were reset back to ‘none’. That leaves me with only one opportunity to see new material…

I’m experiencing same difficulties as Daniel. If I post, then the only “new since last visit” is my own post.

I’m working on a fax for two things: the new right-side content requires a scroll right if you have your screen size set to 800x600, and the “remember the last visit with a cookie” needs some elegantizing. Basically the problem right now is that once you load the front page, you get sent a new cookie, and your “last visit” becomes “now.” I’ve got a workaround for this — I’ll send you a temporary new cookie to remember your “real” last visit — and I’ll implement ASAP.
