If you did nothing else but listen to the music of the artists who are represented by Fleming & Associates, you would nonetheless have a very rich and interesting musical life.

Dan Bern, Garnet Rogers, Luther Wright and the Wrongs all jump out at me. Garnet Rogers gives the best live show I have ever seen from a solo artist. Dan Bern is simply sensational. I’ve never seen him live (he was at the Stan Rogers Folk Festival its first year) but I have 2 of his discs in constant rotation. I believe Garnet makes his first appearance at the Stan festival this year.

We saw Eric Bogle sing Waltzing Matilda at Stan Fest three or four years back. That was the kind of moment folk sometimes use to measure their lives.

I’ve seen six of the Fleming artists play live (Stephen Fearing at the Winnipeg Folk Festival and at Artspace in Peterborough, Garnet Rogers in Winnipeg, Peterborough and New Bedford’s SummerFest, Susan Werner in New Bedford, Connie Kaldor (with Bim!) at the Bathurst Street Theatre, Lucy Kaplansky in New Bedford, and Dougie MacLean (one of Scotland’s treasures) in Peterborough. All were amazing. I’ll look for more.

I’ve been an audience member for several Fleming artists and a promoter for Dan Bern. All of the performances have been exceptional. Their roster is robust and diversified. SUPPORT LIVE MUSIC.
