I’m running an experimental telephone-based bus schedule for the University Avenue line Charlottetown at (902) 367-3694. Phone that number and you’ll hear when the next buses are leaving from the Confederation Centre and from the Charlottetown Mall, and you’ll then have the option of selecting a stop and hearing the next four buses outbound and inbound from that stop. You’re welcome to try it out and get back to me with feedback in the comments.
The same information is available, of course, on the web at thebus.ca and on your mobile browser at m.thebus.ca.

When I was using the Ottawa
When I was using the Ottawa transit they had a 5-digit number at each stop. You could call a Ottawa transport number and then an automated service prompts you to enter that bus stop code. Then it starts rhyming off when the buses are due to arrive…. It would be nice if you could text-message that code to a service that would reply with the correct info….better yet, the gps data from your phone tells the system where you are (that could be problematic).
This is very helpful. It
This is very helpful. It should be advertised wider though.
Halifax has had a telephone
Halifax has had a telephone bus schedule for years…literally. It’s excellent. Victoria BC also has an automated phone system for bus schedules. Too bad Charlottetown doesn’t have this service for all routes. It’s super-convenient.
