How much is an acre of land?

A helpful piece of guidance from G. this afternoon: Queens Square in downtown Charlottetown, bounded by Queen, Prince, Grafton and Richmond Streets, is 4 acres. The other squares downtown — Rochford, Connaught, Hillsborough and Kings — are 2 acres.

Looking from Google Maps Queen Square appears to be 4 times larger than the other squares (not 2 times).

I believe you are right, sir: 12 years after the fact I actually measure the sizes of the square, from Google Maps, and found Rochford, Connaught, Hillsborough and Kings to be 2 acres indeed, but Queen Square to be 12 acres.

Size of Hillsborough Square, measured on Google Maps: 2 acres

Size of Queen Square measure on Google Maps: 12 acres.
