Tegan and Sara

Peter Rukavina

Perhaps the rest of the world has been listening to Tegan and Sara for years? I just heard them for the first time on DNTO last week and I immediately bought Where Does the Good Go from iTunes.

I met them when they played in Fredericton a couple of years ago. They’re not only talented singers but a big part of their act is to banter and tell funny stories between songs. I got to talk to Sara (the cute one) for a few minutes after the show, and I have to say she was as friendly and down-to-earth as anyone.

The White Stripes latest single, “Walking with A Ghost” is actually a Tegan and Sara cover, and is remarkably good (with the note that you must like The White Stripes to like their cover).

I heard the White Stripes remake on a replay of Anne Litt’s Nov. 26th show on KCRW. I thought it was an old glam rock song and it just blew me away. Purchased both the Tegan and Sara and the White Stripes versions on iTunes immediately.
