Twenty years after I first installed Linux (on an IBM PS/2), I booted up a tiny deck-of-cards-sized Raspberry Pi here in the lab. It was dead simple to get running. And, once running, feels like coming home.

I picked one of these up in December (finally found some in stock). I’ve just been playing with rasbian and XBMC so far. My plan for my pi is for controlling my sprinkler system through the GPIO interface, replacing the 20 year old rainbird computer that does it now.
