Rinse

Hint for the day: if, after soaping up your hands when washing them, you rinse for an additional 15 seconds longer than normal, you will get a better hand washing with less soapy residue and will generally feel better about the entire experience.

Peter, are you searching for the fundamental and indivisible unit of wisdom—with this progression to ever smaller and ever less inaccessible insights? Are you putting us on?

Anyway it depends totally on your brand of soap. Sophie buys these soft soap dispensor bottles called “Kiss My Face” for us, which leave a perfumey slime on the hands that only comes off with vigorous toweling.

Maybe its a type of buddist question — the question about existence which expects no answer but is meant to enlighten through its contemplation […But with a old fashioned square-sie PEI approach like “chew yer food twernty times or satan will get ye in the night”.] Anyway, I wash my homebrewing equipment with San Star acid based cleanser and if you don’t rinse that stuff off in two seconds you are left with very oddly smooth silky skin.

While it’s great advice, 15 extra seconds is a long time to run water; think about how much water we would waste if everyone did it. People in other countries don’t have access to clean water, and here we are worried about the soapy residue that gets left on our hands, which we’re probably washing because of the food we’ve just had the privilege of eating. Oh well, I guess everyone could just use that extra water and wash their hands of the entire situation altogher.
