Is that an “unlocked” iPhone? The carrier name is a little blurred out, but it looks a little to big to be AT&T.
Nope — it was AT&T, in the Burlington, MA Apple Store. To their credit, all the demo models of the iPhone in the Apple store were live on the AT&T network, had their own telephone number, and could be used to make calls or send SMS.
