Reinvented Books

Don’t know where it would fit on your list, but the grandaddy of some of the books on your list is Reinventing Government which ranks 28,751 on the Amazon list. It had a jacket blurb from Al Gore and was supposed to be key to the Clinton way of doing things - the idea being not just privatization but that non-profit groups can do what government does only better and for less money because they have some altruistic or passionate attachment to the cause - better to give $10 million to partners of people with AIDS to run Hospices than to have a bunch of social workers and bureaucrats run group homes where all the money goes into salaries and conference travel rather than helping the actual patients of the hospice.
