Numbers in a Monthly Calendar

Peter Rukavina

I’m setting a calendar for the month of May, and I need to know how many of each numeral I need to set the day numbers. So I figured it out, and here, for future reference, is a table of my count:

Number Frequency
1 14
2 13
3 5
4 3
5 3
6 3
7 3
8 3
9 3
0 3

Peter, have you ever heard of Benfords Rule? It basically says that in any scale free set of numbers, the frequency of the digits will heavily favor the lower numerals.

A “1” for example, is six times more likely than a “9”.
