Laurie Brown interviews Leif Vollebekk for Pondercast.

Like she says, “There is nothing better than discovering a new artist you love.”

Leif is excellent. I'm a big fan of his music. And in "small world" related news, when I was looking for an apartment in Ottawa before law school, I attended a Basia Bulat cd launch concert where Leif was the opening act. After the show, I talked to a young woman from NS who turned out to be Leif's girlfriend. She mentioned she had a great apartment that she was going to have to give up to return home to NS. I enquired about looking at it and toured her place (where Leif and his whole band were crashing, despite it being a small studio) the very next day. I signed to take over the lease before leaving town.

I agree he’s fantastic. I’ve seen him live at the Calgary Folk Festival and at small concert hall in Montréal. His new album is excellent.
