It’s nice to know that my city is capable, on occasion, of living up to its inspired city propoganda. Witness this sign, spotted on the way to work this morning:
It’s such a great initiative: it encourages people to walk by defeating the perception by all Islanders (myself included) that to go more than a few blocks will take an hour to walk so you’d better take the car. Bravo, city, bravo.

This has been in the works for a while and we’ve run up against some obstacles along the way, so I’m really glad to see it happening.

Hello Confederation Centre to Boardwalk.
I spotted one on Kent and
I spotted one on Kent and Prince directing people to Victoria Row. These signs are a great way to encourage tourists to leave their hotel on foot and talk a walk around our downtown. It’s smaller projects like this that go a very long way.
