Longtime readers may recall that two years ago I wrote about the 25 subscribers to The New Yorker magazine on Prince Edward Island.
At the time I wrote:
Perhaps I can cement up the list and organize some sort of gathering for us all. We could find a big wooden table in a corner somewhere and chat for hours about William Shawn and Tina Brown and our feelings about the reordering of the front matter.
The time has come.
Next Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. I’m organizing a little gathering of Prince Edward Island New Yorker subscribers in Charlottetown.
If you’re in that group, and you’d enjoy an informal drink with fellow New Yorker readers, please contact me for details.
Good timing. You can discuss the recent work of friend and Trent alumnus Kristy Eldridge... https://www.newyorker.com/humor/daily-shouts/welcome-new-facebook-employ...
Will you come, James?
Sorry, flying to Cádiz for the first time the next morning, and need to pack.
Quickly Googles Cádiz.
Wonders where his life went wrong.
Enjoy your trip.
Me, too. (Not #MeToo.) I first came across Cádiz last year while watching Ostwind 3. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TEwYVgDNPZI
I think it’s not too late too alter that life course. Will report back.
Is that link supposed to do something?
Oh, I so wish I could come to your gathering of New Yorker subscribers! But I am not a subscriber. I am a New Yorker subscriber Wanna Be. I have a question for your group, however.... would any of your tribe have any back issues they would be willing to pass on to me? I am a single mom, and can't afford my own subscription just yet. Boy, I would be so very grateful! My email is email@example.com.
