Fish

Buried at the bottom of a cupboard in our library, I found the stained glass fish that used to grace our piano window. I restored it to its former home.

Great shadow play in that picture. Can you tell me the origin of the term "piano window?" We learned it when we lived on PEI; when we came back to Ontario and started querying about adding one to our home, we were met with furrowed brows. It seems "transom window" is the term used here.

Here’s the view in the other direction. Catherine always called this the piano window, and so I adopted the term. I assume it’s called that because it’s just the right place to put a piano (whereas a full-size window would end up behind the piano).
