Peter Rukavina

My friend Ton writes about the air quality impact of Easter Fires.

Easter Fires!? I’d never heard of this tradition.

As a kid, we'd have dinner at my grandparents at Easter and then pile into the car for a tour through the area to spot and count the many fires. As a student we helped built a fire on the land of the university's rector. We built it from clearing out wooded areas after the winter, taking out the fallen branches, the deadwood etc.
