Air Canada is getting better at highly targeted marketing. On the way in to the office this morning I was thinking “it would be great if there was a way to fly to Europe on a whim.” I picked up my National Post this morning and found the following ad on the bottom of the front page:

Just as I was starting to get over my Eurofetish, there she goes pulling me back in…
Comments
You don’t have a Eurofetish, Peter.
You have ants in your pants.
Indeed.
But how do I get them out…
Note, by the way, that the Air Canada fare in the ad are the deceptive “one way based on a round trip purchase,” so double and add taxes and fees for the “real” fare. For example, return from Charlottetown to Copenhagen is $490 one-way, $980 return, and $1231 return with taxes and fees. In other words, not quite as attractive.
The fact that you have to fly Air Canada might dampen enthusiasm for the deal as well.
