I’ve got my City Councillor, [[Kim Devine]] breathing down my back (hey, isn’t it supposed to be the other way around?) about locations for bike racks in downtown Charlottetown. Apparently the city works department has four brand new single “circle and post” racks waiting for new homes, and Kim needs suggestions for places. Any ideas?

By coincidence, Daniel posts
By coincidence, Daniel posts a photo from Toronto that shows the design of the bike racks.

A city I previously lived in converted parking meter posts into circle-on-post bike racks when they switched to kiosk based parking meters.
What do they need new bike
What do they need new bike racks for? Isn’t there enough wheelchair ramps to chain the bike to? Oh ya! There isn’t enough of those either…
Maybe they could hire some artists to build some of those too? :)

Kent Street would be a good location. There always seems to be bikes in front of the coffee shops.

I would think effective
I would think effective placement would involve; somewhere right near Province House, at least one (possibly two) on the ends of the waterfront, one on the outskirts of Victoria Park near the Sullivan Building and one in the a couple of the town squares.
