New Brunswick

After years of running moribund television commercials advertising their “Day Adventures” (aka “we know you’re not actually going to want to spend the night here, but would you at least spend a little time before you drive to PEI?”), Tourism New Brunswick has produced some very compelling television commercials. They make we want to actually visit the Province. No, no this can’t be happening…

I’ve long claimed that New Brunswick is the armpit of Canada. However, recent visits (or drive-throughs) to Fredrickton and the Gulf coast have impressed me.

Newfoundland’s TV ads make me want to go every time I see them.

I found the trouble with the NB ads was the perky actresses who were clearly not NB natives. I hot bed of lies, I thought. In my recent travels I was in a Subway line-up in Fredericton delayed by the 22 year old guy ahead of me insisting that the sub bun be cut in the “old style”. That was classic NB to me. The new highway from Freddies Beach to Moncton is good, however.

New Brunswick IS the armpit of Canada, but lately, someone’s (Bernard Lord?) been shaving her and making her more attractive. That leaves the question: What part of the body is PEI?

New Brunswick is full of nice people, pretty scenery and good seafood. And, gave us fiddleheads through Samuel Champlain. Oh yah, they have good shopping there, too. The golf courses are improving, as well. France is the home for hairy, female armpits, hence the popularity of perfume.

Classic moves are not restricted to NBers…many of which I have seen right here at home, many by PFA’s. But, being good hosts, we grin and wait for the silly season to end, when they go home…leaving their friends in Islander pockets.

New Brunswick is awful. I’ve been trying to escape for 4 years.
