At long last an episode of the newfangled Compass can be watched on the web.
There’s a bold new SCTV-like opening montage with trumpets blaring accompanying a dizzying array of flying heads and PEI landmarks. It’s a little unnerving to see Sally Pitt’s head flying through the air sandwiched between a lobster and a lighthouse:
I’m dumping the video into an MPEG right now (handy instructions on doing that to follow shortly) and will watch the whole hour once I return from dinner; more accolades and biting commentary to follow.

Final analysis: I could only get the web stream to play 37 minutes worth. The first 15 minutes was the usual panorama of local news of the usual quality and tempo (although Bruce seems to be speaking with a slightly more stentorian voice; it might just be me).
The next 15 minutes seemed to be the “regional news” segment and, quite frankly, I could care less about what happens in Fredericton or Halifax, so I fast forwarded.
Boomer was back with the weather — thank goodness — with weather. Oh how I missed him.
Missed everything thereafter; will have to catch up once I’m back.
