Hair Cut: Before and After

Before taking off on vacation this evening, I went for my customary pre-trip hair cut. I was lucky: when I went in, Fergie was sitting in the barber chair by himself reading the paper and saw me right away; ten minutes later there were 5 men waiting to see him. Here’s what happened:

Before Hair Cut After Hair Cut

I get my hair cut about three times a year (I think: I can’t remember between times, so it must be about three times, as 100 days is about the length of my short term memory). There was a lot more grey hair on the floor this time than last time.

For other hair news from Charlottetown see this post on Rob’s website. Rob falls on the Ray’s side of the Ray/Fergie barber divide, a world I’ve never experienced.

I saw Peter post haircut and he looks much handsomer than that picture.

That’s kind of your to say, Ann. Upon reflection, I do look somewhat sullen in that photo — I was so concerned about figuring out how to take a hair-focused self-portrait that I forgot to smile.

I always meant to try Fergie’s when I was working across the street at the Atlantic Technology Centre, but like most people, I suspect, I’m very stubborn about where I get my hair cut (my mother cut it until I was about eighteen, actually). Anyway, I’m trying to work up the courage to get a cut-rate haircut at the Private Institute of Hair Design and Aesthetics down the hall at my new office at Holland College Royalty Centre. They’ve just moved on from the mannequins to real human heads. You can also get a discount back wax or pedicure, among other things.
Have a good trip!

As I was in roughly the same location for both photos, and facing in the same direction, is it possible to use my nose as a sun dial and calculate the time it took to get my hair cut?

Probably, but before you go through the trouble you might just compare the digital time stamps on the photos. Hey, I wonder if the word nose bears any relation to the word gnomon…

…actually they do sort of come within a pun’s breadth of each other in the word physiognomy. But I’ll spare every one.
