About Peter Rukavina

Rukavina is pronounced Roo-ka-veen-a. It rhymes with "blue cantina." It doesn't rhyme with "truck machiner" or "hooka blini" (which sounds like a pancake that makes you stoned).

Peter Rukavina is President of Reinvented Inc., a Prince Edward Island-based website design and construction company. Founded in 1995, Reinvented works with clients like the Yankee Publishing to develop innovative, interactive, web-based tools and applications.

Before founding Reinvented Inc., Peter worked for 15 years as a freelance computer programmer and graphic designer for clients including the Royal Ontario Museum, Canadian Tire, and the University of Toronto and for a wide variety of small business and not-for-profit clients.

In addition to his work in the information technology industry, Peter undertook an apprenticeship in the composing room of the Peterborough Examiner daily newspaper, becoming certified as a journeyman printer, and has worked as program director of a community radio station, office manager of a political campaign, co-publisher of a community Who's Who, and as publicist for the modern dancer Bill Coleman.

Peter is an occasional contributor to CBC Prince Edward Island's Island Morning, Maritime Noon and Main Street radio programs and maintains a relationship with Trent University as a member of The Systems Group, a systems and technology research project.

Peter, his companion Catherine Miller, and their son Oliver live in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.
